What is Life Of A Fruitcake all about?

I started Life Of A Fruitcake out of anger at the chronic manipulation of women.

We are manipulated into feeling both not enough and too much at the same time.

We are manipulated into thinking we always have to change ourselves, in order to be appealing, worthy and loveable.

We are even manipulated into feeling threatened by one another, to distrust one another and to compare one another.

I was taught, from the moment I could talk, that being sexually attractive in the eyes of onlookers, which also meant being small, was the pinnacle of female power and success.

What I wasn’t taught, was that getting us to buy into this idea of female ‘power’ and ‘success’, is about anything but empowering women.

It is about female obedience.

Striving for this all-important, shrunken sex appeal has sucked over 10 years of my life away from me, as it does for so many.

So, as a recovering fruitcake myself, I want women to stop pandering to the never-ending list of expectations put upon us.

I want us to start disobeying.
